PERS Frequently Asked Questions
When will registration be available?
Courses are held each spring and fall leading up to the PE Exam. Registration is available on our website at http://illinoisengineer.com/PERS.shtml . Registration for fall classes usually starts in July. Registration for spring typically starts in November.
I don’t live near your classes; can you hold a class in my area?
ISPE will make efforts to establish classes in other areas of Illinois if there is interest from a minimum of 10 students. E-mail NicolePalmisano@IllinoisEngineer.com for more information.
If I take your class, will I pass the exam?
Our courses are highly reviewed by students and we have never heard of a student who took our classes, studied properly and did not pass the exam. All of our instructors are Professional Engineers who have passed the exam and have a wealth of experience. It is however, absolutely necessary, that you prepare for the exam outside of the classroom as well. We cannot guarantee that you will pass the test, however if you attend the all of the review courses and study on your own time, you will truly have an edge in the exam room.
What happens if I miss a class? What happens in the case of extreme weather?
You can often get the notes from a classmate. You may also ask your instructor for any handouts you may have missed. Every once and a while, we do have to cancel a class on account of extreme weather conditions. When this happens, we will e-mail the address we have on file before the close of business. You may also call the ISPE Office at 217-544-7424. Veronica Knox’s voicemail will be a recorded message stating that the course has been canceled. The course will be rescheduled and you will not miss any material.
