October 2021 First Friday

October 2021 First Friday
Engineering Ethics - Faithful Agency; Presented by: William S. Larkin This session will discuss what it means to be a faithful agent and why engineers should be faithful agents for their clients and employers. The goal is to help illuminate the scope and limit of such distinctive duties as respecting confidentiality and avoiding conflicts of interest. We will pay particular attention to difficult questions concerning what an engineer may bring to new clients or employers and when it may be justified or even obligatory to blow the whistle on a client or employer.
