Leadership

ESI is governed by an Executive Committee and Board of Directors.  The Board of Directors includes members of the Executive Committee and Chapter Representatives from each chapter.  ESI’s Executive Director, Kim Robinson, CAE, oversees the ESI staff and assists the Executive Committee and Board in fulfilling their duties to the membership.  ESI Legislative Director Linda Baker, Ph.D, represents Illinois Engineers before the Illinois General Assembly and the Executive Administration.

Committees

ESI encourages membership engagement through state and local chapter committees. Below is a listing of current ISPE committees and their chairs.  While some committees are outlined by ESI Bylaws, most committees are open to the membership as a whole.  Interested in becoming involved with an ESI committee?  Click here to email ESI staff.

Executive Committee
The Executive Committee works with the Board of Directors to handle matters related to governance and fulfill responsibilities to members. They ensure implementation of policies enacted by the Board with duties outlined by the ESI Bylaws.

Membership Committee
The Membership Committee is responsible for identifying programs and services that increase the value of ESI membership. They also assist in member recruitment and promoting professional engineering to individuals interested in STEM fields.

Education Committee
The Education Committee assists in identifying topics and recruiting speakers for educational events, conferences, and bootcamp. Members additionally assist the State Society in determining if topics meet the standards for continuing professional education.

Government Affairs Committee
The Government Affairs Committee evaluates legislation introduced in the Illinois legislature, determines its impact on the engineering profession and suggests positions to be taken by the Society. The committee also assists in drafting bills and amendments when necessary.
