This award recognizes a young ESI member who has made outstanding contributions to the Engineering Profession and the community during the early years of one’s career. All award winners are recognized at the ESI Annual Conference.

Nomination Process / Method of Selection​
Any licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineering Intern (EI) who is also an ESI member in good standing and 35 years of age or younger as of January first in the year the award is to be presented is eligible for nomination. Although EI’s can be nominated, PEs will be given greater consideration.

The nomination shall be made either by an ESI chapter or an individual ESI member in good standing. Only one submission per chapter or individual member shall be allowed. Current officers and directors of ESI are ineligible. 

The ESI Honor Awards Committee makes the selection of the recipient based on the following criteria: 

• Collegiate educational and extra-curricula achievements
• Professional society activities, positions held, and achievements
• Technical society activities, positions held, and achievements
• Community and humanitarian activities, positions held, and achievements 
• Career positions and responsibilities after completion of Baccalaureate degree 
• Engineering career achievements
